Some time ago, I wrote letters to my children–to be given to them at my death. I think many people do this as they get older and realize something could happen to them and they won’t have a chance to “say goodby”. Even now, still being with them on many occasions, it seems like I just never have an opportunity to “really talk to them”. It’s so hard to find just the exact time or the exact words to say the things we want to say to them. So, I’ve chosen to say some of those things in this blog (not to just my own children and grandchildren) but to all of the young people who must live out their lives in this “troubled” world and these unsettled times.
All around me, each day, I see so many unhappy people. Unhappy marriages, broken homes, children being raised by strangers while their parents are working day and night to provide more “THINGS” (they really don’t need). If only I could make them understand……….The only “thing” they really need is THE WORD OF GOD. It’s free to all who will read it. And in it they will find the answer to all of their problems. Perhaps some small thing I may write here, may persuade them to look into His marvelous word and live as He has commanded. Only then will they find true “peace and Joy” in life. May He give us all the “Wisdom, Understanding and Strength” that only He can give

“The aged women likewise….may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.”***************************************

Letters From Grandmother
These are written not only to my own grandchildren, but to those young people who are old enough to know right from wrong and have a great desire to do what is right. I hope they will give you wisdom as you make the important decisions in your life. Just remember that the Lord knows what is best for you (He created you). Look to His word to guide you through life and you will find the “Joy and Peace” that He planned for you.

I have now retired and am enjoying my new life here. When I first moved here, I mailed a little monthly paper to my neighbors that I called “The lamplighter”. I enjoy my computer and thought I might use it to do some teaching and perhaps encourage others to serve the Lord.
I missed my morning chapel and daily bible courses so thought this may be a profitable way to spend my time . I prayed these scriptures might bring to each of them the great “Peace and Joy” they have brought to me.
TO A FRIEND I CHANCE TO MEET
We share a pleasant moment
As we pass the time of day;
We speak of things that matter,
But which soon will pass away.I cherish our brief encounter;
It’s to me a source of pleasure;
But please give just a moment
to things beyond our measure.Things greater than earthly life;
Transcending all of hate and strife;
Sent to us from God above,
Springing from a heart of love.I ask you please to read my lines
Written thoughtfully at sober times:
Of all the things I could ever do,
No greater gift could I give to you
